Background:
Shang was raised in a traditionally Chinese family. His mother and father were not a strict parental force but Shang never wanted to disappoint his parents. As he began his sophomore year in high school, his parents decided to introduce him to his betrothed. At first, Shang hated the idea but reconsidered when it was his best friend of 12 years. The two fell in love immediately and decided to marry in college. Shang was an overachiever who tried to do the impossible. He was never placed on ineligible list for his grades because Shang never had less than a 4.0 in his academic career. The one day he got an A- on a test, he nearly had a heart attack and did extra credit to bring it up. Shang would spend most of his time studying, working out, playing the Sanxian or the Japanese Shamisen, or spending time with his 4 younger brothers.

Personality:
Before the attack, Shang was confident and friendly. He would never pick on a nerd because he was one himself and though he was quite attractive, he did not consider himself a playboy. He liked to draw but he cannot paint to save his life. He tends to be very helpful to those who need him. He would sometime talk Hercules down from the nerd beatdown because he had promising athletic career and couldn't risk getting kicked out of school. Now, Shang blunt and sarcastic because he is afraid to let people know the true reclusive nature he has fallen back in. He believes that his fiancee's death is his fault.
