Belle had always been a bit of a loner; she never really had any good, close friends, so when she met Cale it was important for her. As the "event" day got closer, she began to wonder if her feelings for Cale extended beyond friendship, and so on that day she was planning on talking to Cale about it. She had no idea that the event was even going on, she was in a little garden spot that only she and Cale would hang out in. When he didn't show, she didn't really think anything of it, just headed to her next class. That's when she learned of what had happened.

At first she was in denial, she couldn't believe that Cale, her Cale, could do that. Then she became depressed, not sleeping well because she was always crying. This depression was not only because she had lost her one and only friend, but also because she couldn't believe that she didn't see it or that she was actually more upset that Cale was gone than because of what he had done.

Eventually she entered a state of numbness, she had basically become a zombie, performing the necessary everyday tasks but nothing more. After high school, she started taking courses at the nearby community college-no specific major, just a bunch of general ed courses plus some that just interested her. She also began working as a hostess/waitress at a local restaurant, and volunteers at an animal shelter with the rest of her free time. Basically, she just tries to keep herself busy, so she can't go back to where she had been after the shooting.

When she received the letter for the cruise, she didn't care in the least, but her father persuaded her to go. He had watched her has she went through her depression and it killed him, so he thought maybe MAYBE this cruise to wake her up. Belle didn't have such hopes,but she agreed to go for her father.

Personality-
Belle is a kind, intelligent, beautiful bookworm and very introverted. She suffers from a bit of social anxiety and has trouble fully opening up to people, so when she is able to open up to people, she becomes very attached to them. While Belle does love reading, and writing, her biggest passion has always been singing. No one as ever heard her, except her father-by accident-and Cale. She hasn't sung since the shooting, but every now and then, her foot will start tapping and she'll be bobbing her head to whatever music is playing.

Family-Belle lives with her father, a widower, while she goes to school part time, works part time, and volunteers.
