Chel wiped her eyes and sighed from her own fright. She didn't hear anyone come out nor was she expect anyone to have done so. She wasn't trying to reconnect with that. She wasn't in any real danger but the bullet had almost pierced a lung when it hit her and she didn't even remember anyone helping her. Most of the girls ran out of the locker room, leaving her to bleed to death.

"Chel?" Eric asks again, taking her hand trying to bring her back to earth. "Hey," He murmurs.

Chel looked at him and quickly pulled her hand from his. "Hey... What are you doing out here?" She asked.

She was starting to think and trembled. She couldn't even bring herself to look him in the eye. She was too lost.

Eric frowns, she was clearly caught off guard and feeling down about something. He didn't know her very well but that didn't mean he wasn't concerned. He kneels lower to try to look her in her eye.

"Well I was pretty concerned. I'd ask you if you were all right, but you're obviously not... do you want to talk about it?" He asks politely with a smile.

Chel scoffed and looked away, pulling her knees to her chest.

"What would be the point of doing that? As long as I don't bring you guys down, things will be fine right? I mean... They have to be." She whispered as she looked at the floor boards, her voice starting off strong and angry but slowly became sad. "I guess... Seeing people pairing up... It reminded me of high school. How everyone had someone but me..."

Eric's face softens, "You weren't bringing me down... pairing up? I just met you guys. I was just trying to be friendly." He claims innocently, trying not to make her feel alone. "It's okay to be alone sometimes. I was alone all four years."

"But you don't have to be alone now. I'll be your friend Chel. I'm sure he others will too. Just... calm down okay? It's okay, don't worry." He lifts his hand to touch her to relax her but then remembers earlier so puts his hand back on his knee.

She wanted to believe that. She had been alone for a long time. Her popularity had died that day and she would have changed all of who she was to make it all go away. She never realized how truly alone she was until that day in the locker room.

"Being alone was better than thinking the world would help you, only to be left to bleed to death, Eric." She whispered softly.

Eric frowns and offers his hands out to her. Chel looked like she needed a hug but if she didn't want him to even touch her hands he wouldn't cross a boundary. He didn't really know what to say to her. It's okay? It'll be all right?

"I'm sorry... I don't what to say. But I... don't want you to feel alone. Because you're not alone." He smiles brightly. "I'll be here."

Chel looked at him and his hand. She hesitated and reached for it, taking it gently in her grasp. She started to tear up again but wiped her eyes before they fell. She smiled softly and nodded.

Eric holds her hand tight. That's good.

Eric smiles wider back and pulls her into a hug as he stands up. He'd seen her eyes water and Chel wipe her eyes. He gives her a tight squeeze. "It'll be okay." Eric murmurs softly in the direction of her ear.

Chel looked at him seriously and shook her head. This eerie feeling of being watched. She was too afraid to admit things were going to be okay.

"Don't lie to me like that. It won't be. We were all kidnapped and brought here. It's not going to be okay. Someone is going to get hurt." She whispered.

Eric sighs heavily. He knew she was right. But he wasn't going to admit it. At least not fully.

"Perhaps. But focus on you right now. Focus on Chel and then worry about other people later okay?" Why worry about someone who never looked twice at you?

Chel chuckled, "In all honesty... I doubt anyone would miss me Eric. My exboyfriend is probably glad that he doesn't have to see me at work anymore and more than anything I am still the 'slut' people believe I was in high school. I've never even..."

She stopped. Why was she explaining this?

Eric laughs a little bit and releases her before stepping back. "I would miss you. For your ex, well it's his loss; and if these people still believe you're a slut let 'em. You're only what you believe you are. If you believe you're a slut, then you are. And if you don't, you're not. Simple enough, right?"

Chel laughed, "I suppose. Just... not used to guys not being assholes. Ya know? I work in a night club as a dancer and people think I'm sleeping with my boss. Most guys don't really care about the inner stuff. Thanks though."

Thomas gave her a small smile. "Maybe..." He said, not sure if he really believed her, but didn't want her to think that he didn't.

He looked around the room, seeing so many familiar faces... He was almost worried he would see his old crush, Aurora, here of all places...

He had his reasons for not wanting to come to the "reunion", mainly because high school had really been the worst time of his life...

He only cared about it during those brief moments he got to talk to Aurora.

"So... what do you do for a living? Obviously it has to be better then my job as a mail guy." He said, feeling that everyone had to have a better job than him.

She chuckled mysteriously, "If I told you, I'd have to kill you." She said eventually. She smiled at him before she stepped back, "My job is dangerous and takes me to some very obscure parts of the globe, some of which I'm unable to reveal to anyone. So the fact that I was found and taken while on a job is very impressive and scary." She admitted, she could say about that much. She had noticed that whoever had taken her had rid her of the weapons on her person...again impressive. "Trust me, the less you know about me the better off you'll be." She added after a moment.

Thomas looked at her surprised. At first he thought she might have been joking with that comment at first, but when she started to explain what she "could" about her job...

"...I get the feeling I should never get on your bad side." He said, seriously, looking at the petite woman in front of him in shock.

Eric smiles gently, "No prob."

(Oh yeah that's right XDD)
She smiled at him, "That would be a good idea but I would never hurt someone who didn't deserve it." She said honestly. She moved and sat on one of the beds, "At the moment though I'm off duty so don't worry about it." She said as she tried to get him to relax. After all it wasn't like she was going to kill him without a good reason, besides he had always been the nice one.
